By the Decree of the State Accreditation Committee of Ukraine,  International Solomon university was awarded the 4th (highest) level of acreditation.International Solomon University’s (ISU) main mission is to serve as an educational centre uniting the world’s best specialists and the young people striving to get at the top of their chosen professions.

 

ISU chief goal is to constantly improve the quality of education and broaden the range of people seeking the educational opportunities the university has to offer.

 

ISU major tasks are:

  • providing high quality education in its synthesis of academic, pedagogical, scientific and methodological aspects;
  • providing conditions for acquiring by students of systemic knowledge of Man, nature and society, molding every student into a socially mature creative personality;
  • providing students with enough knowledge to prepare them for practical work in the areas of their professional specialization;
  • preparing young people for independent scientific or pedagogic activities;
  • creating opportunities for educating young people in Jewish Studies including the Jewish languages (Hebrew and Yiddish) , Jewish history, culture, and religion;
  • educating specialists of international standards in order to contribute to Ukraine’s broadening cooperation with Israel, the USA, the European and other countries of the world.

Content of specialisation: extensive study of the world’s historical processes, facts, events, and phenomena of human civilisation using methods  of history research with the aim of utilising the acquired knowledge in teaching and research
Professional training: ISU graduates with a degree in History are able to establish connections between events and tendencies of world’s history, analyse the past in the light of the world’s historical process, have experience of using history research methodology in teaching and research work
Positions accessible to graduates from the Department of History:
• teacher of History and other social disciplines in secondary schools, gymnasiums, and lyceums;
• teacher of History disciplines in higher educational establishments;
• historian – specialist in archives work;
• historian – specialist in museum work;
• specialist in History research, etc.
Department’s special projects:
• International Centre for Khazar Studies – a Department’s research unit founded in 2000 with the aim of studying archaeological relics and written documents of Khazar culture and the early Middle Age historical processes on the territory of Eastern Europe. The Centre carries out annual excavation expeditions in search of objects of the Khazar period culture of Saltov in the Don and the Donetz rivers regions, annually publishes a collection of papers and research materials under the title “Khazar Almanac”.
• School of Jewish Studies – a broad educational programme including mini-courses taught by leading specialists on the Jewish history of Izrael, Russia, Ukraine. The School has been held in EUB ISU since 2000. It takes place twice a year: as Summer School (for students) and as Winter School (for senior secondary school pupils).
• International contacts. The Department is working in close cooperation with the Department of Jewish Studies at the Institute of Asian and African countries of Moscow Lomonosov university, S. Chase Centre for teaching Judaics in Russian at Jewish university in Jerusalem. ISU students have opportunities to participate in international educational exchange and research programmes, continue their education in Jewish Studies in Moscow or Jerusalem.

Content of specialisations: intense study of diverse economic processes in various spheres of business, mastering analytical methods of research and acquiring experience in their practical application

Professional training:

ISU graduates with a degree in “Finance” possess skills of performing financial analysis and audit at various kinds of enterprises sufficient for them to work (possibly in top management positions) in financial and banking offices, insurance companies, etc.;

ISU graduates with a degree in “Marketing” are able to monitor sales, act as managers of marketing and commercial units at enterprises, are knowledgeable in the ares of public relations (PR) and advertising, have profound theoretical background enabling them to perform market surveys of consumer goods and services

Positions accessible to graduates from the Department of Economics specialising in Marketing:

  • marketing service manager, marketing department manager;

  • advertising or PR department manager;

  • sales department manager;

  • commercial department manager;

  • sales expansion specialist;

  • market analysis specialist;
